My Observations on TISS Interview Part 2

Almost 2 years back I wrote the post " My Observations on TISS Interview Part 1" .
It can be read here :
 http://anvesh87.blogspot.com/2012/03/my-observations-on-tiss-interview-part.html

Till date it remained the most read post in my blog despite my numerous attempts in posting humorous posts and intellectual posts ;)

But in one way it served the purpose.....when I started preparing for TISS entrance exam and searching seriously all over the net for experience, life at TISS etc  ..hardly there were any blogs or content, so I made it a point to write the series "Life at TISS" once I joined in TISS ...any how to cut this already long epilogue....I am planning to write  part 2 for the  post "My Observations on TISS interview Part 1 "

Having spent 2 most valuable years of my life at TISS and close to 1 year in HR field after graduation, I believe I am better informed about TISS as a college and interview process in general...

So here is the plan, as I can see the traffic for blog had increased in recent past with announcement of TISS results, I can safely assume that some of TISS aspirants are visiting the blog to know more about TISS....So when you visit next time, leave a question in the comments section of this post .....I would come up with one article covering all questions on 16th February ....if there are no questions, I would believe I have covered every thing in part 1 and part 2 is just as unnecessary as Dhoom 3 :P :P

Thanks for reading and all the best for actual test in TISS selection process ...Interview

PS: Don't be so lazy  in asking questions such as "Explain TISS interview process"...I am as lazy in not answering such questions if not more ;)

  1. Hi Anvesh,
Firsly, thanks for sharing your experiences for future aspirants like us..
I've completed step 1 and waiting for interview dates/timings to be announced. As a wheelchair user who will be traveling from cochin for the interview, I wanted to know if Tiss has any guest house facility for students who will be coming from far. If so, should I call up n book early? By when will they give out the schedules (hoping both PIT/PI will be on same day)? Need to book flight tickets, that's why.

  2. Thank you..
I also enquired with the admissions cell and got to know early booking is not needed.
    Cheers.

  3. I had my interview in TISS Hyderabad for M.A. Public Policy and Governance.
I went well overall but, after reading the Detailed App in which it was mentioned that I had even given Azim Premji University interview, one of the panellists asked me that if I am selected in both, then which one will I go for. I spontaneously (without thinking once) said Azim premji, but also gave a convincing reason for it--that one can chose to specialise in Public policy or have a combination of all 4 subjects(PP, Envt, Health, Education) in last sem, unlike TISS. I thought at this point my interview was over but then the last question (after the above mentioned Q.) was asked that dealt with Development Dilemmas and Industrialisation in Bihar.....I don't know if the Q related to institute priority will lead to my rejection...Pls give me some idea as to the extent of relationship between my response to the Q. and panellist's decision.

  4. Hey Anvesh,

In your part 1 article, you have left us wondering if TISS was worth it or not. Now, I see you working as an HR professional. What is your opinion now? Was it worth it? How do you like the HR industry? How much chance does it give to you to grow as a professional, make a network and leave your mark?
I have given TISS interview this year, which went pretty good as per my standards. I am from NIT Allahabad and have two years of experience.

Waiting for your answer and hoping for the best.
